Speedy West and Jimmy Bryant Video Clip
I found this video on the Telecaster page with reference to Jimmy Bryant. I thought you folks would like the Speedy West action.

Folks, if you haven't been to Terry Downs' site, I strongly suggest you go there and check out his Roy Nichols tele dvd. I bought it, and think it's a great learning aid for anyone looking to cop some sweet Nichiols licks.
terry is also a AAA+++ guy to deal with.
He also has a soldering dvd for sale that is very informative and well worth the $$.
Thanks again Terry,
Jordan

The Wills Snader clips are included in the new Bear Family Bob Wills box set, I don't think these Ernie Ford transcriptions have ever been commercially rereleased anywhere. Merle Travis recorded about a dozen Snader clips, half of which Speedy is included. Stefan Grossman's Vestapol-label has released them both as VHS and DVD and Speedy can be seen demomstrating the "boo wah" in a big way on Merle's "Sweet Temptation", he was THE show man of the steel guitar!!

Up in ther north east we mostly got TEF doing maudlin ballads, not much of him
doing boogie, fast pickin or proto rock.
Like this.
Pretty cool it updates my opinion of him considerably.
Maybe he was pretty old by the time I saw him...
Still he did have Speedy and Jimmy,
so logically he MUSTA let them break out a harness
from time to time.

I assume you recognized Eddie Kirk on rhythm guitar, and Billy Liebert on piano.

Thanks Ian.
I did visit the page and I encountered problems. However I now got it working.
What the page does (or intends to do) is to generate a re-direct link... but it does not catch it. When I found out what it was trying to do, I just did it manually:
These videos have an 11 digit ID attached at the end of each link related to it:
For Kissing Bug Boogie it is oI1gQseQobM and for ShotGunBoogie it is o9IgiDlv5eE.
The link the page tries to gnerate is: w w w .youtube.com/get_video.php?video_id= plus the relative 11 digit ID at the end.
So, for Kissing Bug Boggie the link would be
http://www.youtube.com/get_video.php?video_id=oI1gQseQobM
and for Shot Gun Boogie
http://www.youtube.com/get_video.php?video_id=o9IgiDlv5eE
Once you click here, paste and copy or create a new one with an other ID in the address bar or a IE-window, it will open the little download-and-open-or-save window. Click on save, select name and location and let it come to you.
So now you got it on your computer and most likely nothing will run it. First you need to rename it... give it any name you want and make sure you end it with .flv
Now it's an flv-file (what ever that means) and you probably still can't run it.
You can do either of two things:
Get (download) a FLV player (haven't found one) or get a format converter. I got a free sample copy of a format converting program called "CinemaForge" from http://www.download.com/CinemaForge/3000-2169_4-10373646.html and with that tool I succesfully converted the .flv file to .mpeg which plays on your Windows Media Player
Hope it helps! ... J-D.
