Hello everyone. My names Larry and I'm new to the forum.

I must admit I do not currently play PSG, but I am saving money now to possibly get a Carter Starter. (Seems like the popular belief about the Starter is that it's a good place to start)

I am currently a bass guitar player, 24 years old. It is kinda funny how I got into PSG. I bought a bass guitar a little over a year ago, and learned a few things about it. I do love country music, so I bought "The Lost Art of Country Bass", by Keith Rosier. (instructional book) It came with a play-along CD that has bass lines with excellent PSG playing. I fell in love. It is odd to say, but I actually found myself playing the CD to listen to the music more then playing it to play-along. (LOL)

Anyhow, just thought I would share some info of myself. I have been reading the forum for some time now, always a great place to find good advice and hope to chat with you all sometime soon

Larry Middleton.

horray, another person under the age of 30.

I like to see us young kids who are playing steel. (or want to.) At 20, I'm probably the youngest member, but it's all fun. Everyone here is helpful when you need some assistance, so don't be afraid to ask them! They know!

Welcome from Texas Charlie.
There seem to be a lot of bass players that become interested in steel.
And I'm glad that younger players are joining.
A Starter is a good place to start; keep your eyes on the 'for sale' section here.
They turn up more frequently than other models.

Jim, I live in Steubenville. Its close to where Ohio, WV, and PA all come together. Right next to Weirton,WV.

I plan on making a purchase in the next 2-3 weeks, so I will keep my eyes open.

All the warm welcomes make me all that more excited about my new adventure. Thanks all!
