Thanks Jody; do you have a copy of it for me??ha...I haven't seen it; is it online?? www.missleslie.com is ONE cool band; that I recorded with this last summer(tracks 3 thru 13)on their new release "Honky Tonk Revival" http://www.miss-leslie.com/music.cfm
And HONKY TONK is what it is alright. This band does classic Country and they don't do a song recorded after 1969; unless they wrote it; but it is as classic as its day.
Live piano; upright bass; classic Tele twang; steel guitar; Miss leslie plays fiddle and sings all the greatest Johnny Paycheck; Connie Smith; George Jones and many more from that era.
I'll be filling the steel guitar chair for them from now on; I LOVE IT.
Matter of fact for you Houstonians; I'll be there at the Continental Club this Wednesday 7pm-9pm as they hold the Honky Tonk Happy Hour there every week; and so it looks like I'll be in Houston quite a bit. I'll stay with my brother in the Woodlands each week; so Tee time at the TPC every Thursday Morning is 9am> so come on with it...ah...ha.

I saw Ricky with Miss Leslie and her band when they played Ginny's Little Longhorn (the honkiest, honkiest beer joint in town) recently. He had tone to die for and great licks. The band is a bunch of young players who've listened to all the right stuff and had the intelligence to recognize the and absorb the essential parts of classic country music and make it their own. I look for great things from them in the future.

The night I heard them, you'd have thought Lloyd Green was the steel player, until I realized that Lloyd isn't tall, blonde, and in his 40's. Process of elimination told me it was Ricky.
I also talked to him out in the parking lot before the gig.
