Hello All,

I'm new to the forum and pedal steel. I've had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Dave Berzansky a few times with The Hacienda Brothers and my instructor, Chris Allen Burke. I live in the Long Beach area of Southern California and I'm anxious to see other steelers play live, try to pick up some tips here and there. Get another tonal opinion, if you will. Any suggestions or anybody here live in my area? Come on now, I know you're out there!

Jesse,

Mike Perlowin and Chas Smith both live in CA and will know most if not all of the steelers there . Try emailing them and that should help.

Hi Jesse

Welcome to the Steel Guitar Forum, There are a bunch of guys that play around also to let you know, usually we have a L.A. steel guitar Jam session around February over near Pasadena which is hosted by Mike Perlowin at the El Arco restaurant on York Blvd. There will be many steel players there sometimes even the pros show up like Jay Dee Maness and Bobby Black in recent years. John Mclung who also teaches shows up and I could go on but your best bet is to contact Mike Perlowin and talk to him.

Happy New Year

Awesome! Thanks for the info! I'm still a hack so I'll show up to a jam session to check it out at least. Not too many steelers my age I've noticed, not that it's bad that most are older than I am, but it's important to keep steeling alive for generations to come!
