Merry Christmas to you Mr. Mooney.

I have been one of your fans for many years.

The first time I saw you play live was at a concert in Kezar Stadium in San Francisco in the 70's. Waylon & The Waylors were sandwiched between New Riders of the Purple Sage and the Grateful Dead.

May seem like an unlikely combination to some, but it turned out great!

I remember all the hippies loved your playing and you broke out a big grin after they applauded you on an especially "Moon"-like ride!

Merry Christmas Mr. Moon:

On Sunday in Dallas in the restaurant, you stopped by our table and said hello to us two strangers. Thanks so much for doing that. I was so taken back that I neglected to tell you how much we enjoyed your playing. The early Buck and your years with Wynn Stewart are wonderful.

Thanks so much. Hope to hear you in person again.

I can't believe I hadn't noticed this post until today as I've been "worshiping" at the 1st Church of Ralph Mooney since the fifties! Anyway, Ralph Merry Christmas to you and Ms. Moon....JH in Va.

Mr. Mooney, I wish you all the best, and want to thank you for all the great steelin that you have entertained us with, all these years. I certainly won't forget how you made Buck Owens shine with your steelin. May your days be blessed with health and happiness. Rich Lester

Last bump before printing this out and presenting it to one of the most influential steel geniuses of all time. He's given us SO much, and as for me, I don't know if I would have ever taken up steel if not for "Mister Moon".
