One of my favorite steel breaks by one of my favorite steel players, and one of my favorite singers.

You stirred my interest so I had to get a copy of "Going Where The Lonely Go".
Wal-Mart had Merle Haggard . The Hits for about $8. 16 songs with 12 #1 hits.
Great deal!! Does Norm do all of Merle's steel work in the studio?
He is a great one for sure! |

I'm fairly sure that Norm has done ALL (live and studio) of the steel work for Merle since the late 60's. Can someone correct me if I'm wrong, please? |

Rodney;
To my knowledge, the early recordings featured Ralph Mooney. Norm played on almost all of the recordings since the late 60's. There are a few exceptions, though. A few MCA albums in the 80's had Buddy Emmons, (I'm Always on a Mountain, My Tribute to Elvis and Ramblin' Fever.) Norm may have been on them, too, I'd have to dig out the LP's to re-listen.
