I am a owner of a D10 Thomas Generation 2 that is a great steel. Does anyone know when
Thomas stopped making these units?

Do a forum search on Thomas guitars or "Barry Thomas" the builder.
He built some good guitars and as I understand did machine work for several other builders. He was in California but the last I heard he had moved, I think, to Oklahoma.
I have a friend in southern Missouri that has a Thomas S-10 and loves it. I have another friend here in Florida that bought the Thomas 12 string that Jeff Newman had.[This message was edited by Jack Stoner on 20 November 2005 at 10:00 AM.] |

I think thomas lives in chickasha. I was in plaza music store about 3 tears ago and the owner there told me he had moved there--hope this might help ya find him.

Barry Thomas is a multi-millionairre, and he built his steels as a hobby, not as a business.
Because of this, he was able to use the finest materials and tools available, and really put the time and energy into making each one as good as he possibly could, without worrying about recouping his expenses or making a profit when he sold them.
I visited his shop once, and was VERY impressed with what I saw. He was making parts at the time and didn't have an assembled guitar on hand, but it was clear that he was really striving to build top quality instrument. |

Thanks folks. I am looking at buying a Thomas SD10. My D10 Thomas is a wonderful steel and they will most likely put it in the ground with me. As a beginner moving the D10 to lessons and church is a work out. I had a Carter starter and purchased the Thomas. My playing has improved and the tone is awesome.
