Had the pleasure of sitting next to Mr. Leonard T. Zinn at a steel guitar jam recently and saw his SGHOF plaque. He is so proud! Leonard was playing some cool stuff on his MSA that had me scratching my head. Also, Leonard says he's gonna revive the Grand Rapids, MI steel guitar show next year! Good news!
Check out the three fingerpicks.

One of my favorite memories of the Scotty's ISGC's that I've attended is watching Mr. Zinn sitting up there on the stage with a huge smile on his face, playing rhythm guitar and just enjoying the heck out of being part of the band. Even though he's not necessarily the featured musician, he seems delighted just to be part of the show.
I was able to talk with him for a few minutes once at Scotty's, and he's one of the most kindly and good-natured gentlemen I've ever met.
He's a Hall-of-Famer just as a fine gentleman and a walking advertisement for music, let alone his H-O-F steel guitarist credentials.[This message was edited by Burr Oxley on 01 November 2005 at 06:16 PM.] [This message was edited by Burr Oxley on 01 November 2005 at 06:17 PM.] |

I have loved just being around L.T. Zinn. His smile and playing is the highlight of any shows that I play on. He is well deserving of the award. Albert Svenddal

Drew- Yes, We here in Michigan are proud of our Leonard T. Zinn.
That Jam mentioned was our annual Trufant,Mi Jam , 2nd sunday in October, and it was fun.
Leonard was so smooth and such a touch on that MSA S10.
He was making C6 sounds on his E9. He stayed for the whole jam.
I don't know where he gets all that energy, but I wish he could pass some of that along to me.
I hope to be looking forward to his starting up the Grand Rapids HOF show again. He had it going for 9 years then took this year off. It has always been a great show.....al

Mr. Zinn is one of the few steelers that I can identify blind folded just by the manner of his playing style. Very smooth, no clutter and can pick a string without you hearing it being picked.

I had the pleasure of doing a couple shows with L.T. At the Ohio State Fair and it was great . He is a great person to say the least . As always he got a great sound from his little Fender amp and his M.S.A. steel . Keep up the good work L.T. God bless you . Gary . |
