| Hi everyone,Its a couple of years since I last logged onto the forum ...had two house moves and an ISPchange. I thought Id need to join again but Bobbe says im still a member and I need some help please.I have a peavey cs200 amp and a tube fex, it wes bought secondhand and I am having a problem getting normal volume out of the thing. When it is on full the volume is about the same as my session 500 on no.1. does anyone have any ideas or expierience of this ? |

The Tubefex has "global" volume settings for both the input and output. Check those.
Use a program that does not use the "TB" effect (e.g. a Profex II program) and see if the volume is OK. If it is, it may just be a bad 12AX7 tube in the preamp.
If you don't have the manual for the Tubefex, it can be downloaded from the Peavey web site. It has all the setup instructions. |

Alan, I agree with Jack, if you haven't already done so, go to Peavey's web site and download the manual for the tubefex. To adjust the volume with the tubefex, press the "global" button, the first time brings up the tuner, press it again, this brings up the volume settings. From left to right you have the input level, low, mid, high and last, the output level. Your volume is changed by by changing the the input and output levels. Use the left/right buttons to select the setting, use the up and down buttons to raise and lower the settings. Press the "play" button when you are finished with your adjustments. The manual covers this in detail.
For practice at home, I usually have the input at about 15 and the output at 40-50. When playing loud, I will set the output at 100 and adjust the input as high as needed. Of course, you also have to set the level at the power amp, I usually just turn the amp all the way up. Good luck. [This message was edited by Bill Moore on 05 November 2005 at 06:14 AM.] |

| Thanks for those replys of advice.. sounds good advice too, you know when you get the feling "yep this is going to work" ! I will try them out soon. I have all my things packed away at the moment for a move to another house, I doubly cant wait to get there now to try out the help you have given me. I will let you know how I get on. Alan. |
