I can guarantee you it will not be Bob Hempker playing with Roy Clark. Bob has a job with Country Tonight in Branson. I played at the Roy Clark theater in Branson. Although Roy Clark has used limited steel guitar, 99% of his music does not involve steel guitar. Just my opinion The Ozark Jubliee Show is a production of Randy Newman, a fiddle player and comedian.
They do have a steel player who plays a 12 string BMI. I can't remember him ever playing for Roy Clark. If he did, it was for an extremely short time.[This message was edited by Keith Hilton on 01 November 2005 at 06:04 AM.] |

A while back there was a topic about Roy Clark letting go of his steel player. I never cared much for him anyway but that just added fuel to the fire. I have seen him play many times on television and he did fine. However, I have never seen him play any jazz chords on his guitar. I will not say I would not ever go see him, but the chances of me seeing him in a concert or on television have diminished greatly, about as close to zero as you can get. |

The steel player's name is Mike Miller. I don't know of him ever working with Roy. Like it was said, if he did it was a long, long, time ago, and a short period of time. Even if he did, which I highly doubt, isn't that a really cheap way to advertise a show?

Bob:
It's almost like someone does not know what they are talking about(Roy Clarks Steel String Guitarist).I must admit there are some very fine musicans in Branson. I have a freind in Nashville who plays quite a bit and he says the same thing, that who can get the most notes in at one time will probably get the gig.He does not play steel as his main insturment, but he plays a lot diffrent insturments.
Darrell
PS was at the branson steel jam and had great time just listening. |

Personally, I've never cared much for Roy Clark nor his music. During all the years I deejayed country music on the Radio his records were ones that never got airplay on my shows.

I have never known Roy to hold back anything.I believe he has always played all he knew.Just my opinion. He always had a facial expression as if he were about to do something and never did.Again, just my opinion. Fred |

I don't care for Roy Clark either, but I have watched the Time Life Adds for the Hee Haw series on DVD. Roy Clark does the emcee, but has anybody noticed his eyes. Does he wear colored contacts? |

I don't think Roy wears colored contacts, but I have always been under the impression that he views his guitar playing through rose colored glasses.
