I know the IBMA will be there for their awards, which will be great for Dobro players, but what is there that week for pedal steel music. Let me know what club your at and I'll get down there and say hey.
I checked to see if the Players were playing at 3rd and lindsley but unfortunatly not. Can't wait to get there.

Hey Randy, what ever you do make sure and stop by Legends because they have some of the best music on Broadway. If your lucky you'll catch Mike Sweeney on Steel (one of the best steel players in town) and while your down there stop in Roberts or the bluegrass inn. You be sure and find some good country music all up and down Broadway.

I believe Terry Wendt is playing Friday & Saturday nights at Tootsie's (10 - 2). He is one of the best players you will see down on Broadway.

And I will stress that if you even think about going to Broadway on a weekend evening, you MUST go to Roberts and check out Brazilbilly. Their guitar/steel player Chris Casello is the best 6-string slinger I have ever heard. I'm a huge Brian Setzer fan.....and he's BETTER than Setzer. UN-believable picker. They also play from 10-2 on Fri & Sat nights. Casello also fronts his own band there on Sun nights from 6 - 10, I believe.

'Nine inch nails' are playing the Gaylord arena on Halloween night.

As for good steel though, I'm not sure if god of goth Trent Reznor is carrying one these days. But, I hear he's got great twin fiddles.

But seriously, if you ARE still in town on Halloween, and you want to hear good steel... Of course you have Monday night WESTERN SWING (among the happiest of musics) at the Station Inn, as always with none other than the best, Mr. John Hughey.

Also, Robert's on broadway has John England's 'western swingers', featuring fiddling Gene 'pappy' Merritts, along with creative and great C6-playing steel guitarist Tommy Hannum. (And if Tommy isn't there that night, they may have Mike Sweeney, who really is great).

The Station Inn is a better setting for music, if you're trying to HEAR it. But Johnny England's boys sound great too, plus they just play for tips. (Just get up near the stage if you happen to get surrounded with excessive noise.

Check all of 'em out! If I wasn't gonna be dishin' out 50 bucks at the Gaylord, it's what I'd be doing.
