I really don't know much about these guitars, I've had a couple, but never paid any serious attention to them before I sold them.
I just recieved one in great original condition and would like to know any information, history,
period of manufacture, anything I can learn.
Picture on my web page under "Non-Pedal" guitars.

Help?

It sure is a beauty. I have gone through four of them and this one should be rated #1! Legendary Hawaiian steel player, Jules Ah See used to play a double neck version. Refer to this thread: http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum2/HTML/006503.html
It has two distinctive character that the sound is warm, rich and robust and the weight w/legs and case is about 7lbs heavier than Stringmaster T8!
Magnatone Maestro T8 or Lyric D8 had a short neck single pickup version yet a two pickup version was added perhaps because a double pickup Stringmaster was getting popular then.@I don't know the period of manufacture but it would overlap a good part of Stringmaster's with a start a bit later.

Can't anwer your questions, but in having a doubleneck, my opinion is that they were a higher brow guitar than Fender. Just an nicer quality, better-built guitar.

I had a D-8 that was very similar to it back in 1973-74. It was fun to play, but lacked acceptable tone (in my opinion). It seemed to be well-made except for the weak pickups.
