Hey Walt, set the old alarm clock, the loss of sleep won't hurt. After all you sit in front of the Convention stage for hours.

Don,
I want to thank you for your help today in the steel -shat room, I've learned alot and enjoyed Jerry Brightman on many topics.
I've enjoyed both the forum and the shat room because of the shared love of the steel and people like you, who care enough
to take the time for others.
THANKS!

Looks like fun; Don, I did log out and try to log back in again, but I couldn't get back in. Message says the "Conference Room is Locked"! Y'all must have locked the door as soon as I left. No matter; I'm used to that, my wife does it all the time. I'll come back and try again another time.
Thanks for the nice welcome and trying to help me with the sound problem.

It was great Fun! I learn a few new tricks.
Quite a few of us recorded the session with Jerry and for anyone that missed it you can download the first hour and a song that Jerry played with the link below.
Clink on a file name to play the files (MP3's) or download them to your PC or burn them to a CD etc... ( just right click your mouse and select save target as ... to save to you hard drive)
Note: I prefer that you download the files to your PC before you play them because of bandwidth restrictions with the internet account and that one of the files is large. (over 20 megabytes (MB)) The other one is less than a MB. It will take 3 or 4 minutes to downlad the bigger file if you have high speed internet or 15 to 25 minutes if you have dial-up.

Don probally has the second hour as well and will put it on his site later.

I am extremely proud to say that this first "question and answer" session with guest speaker Jerry Brightman...was well received by all who attended. The questions just kept coming and Jerry was gracious enough to field each and every one no matter how fast they threw them at him. The topics were many and Jerry even shared a great story of him as a young man who was asked by Buck Owens to join up. And what a speaker he turned out to be. There were the serious questions and answers but a lot of laughter and fellowship that I haven't seen in quite some time in the steel guitar world. We are planning more of these type chats that will include other pro players who have their own styles and techniques to share as well as topics such as steel guitar repairs and changing set ups with Bobby Bowman and Mike Sweeney will be there next week to field questions about tone/voicing...styles...licks etc. etc. and about anything you want to ask him. Many players would like to learn more about how to use Band in the Box to make tracks that they can play steel to. Chuck Campbell is about the best there is on that subject and will be on to share his knowledge of that with all who want to attend. I would like to invite you all to attend these sessions but we are in the room every day and night just talking and listening to great steel music. It's great to hear the voices of so many that we have only "typed" to before. If you have any questions you may e-mail me and I will help you as I can.
Finally let me just say thank you to Jerry Brightman for the time you shared and the vast amount of knowledge and trick and licks you shared. Already I have received a lot of e-mails wanting to know when you will be back and I for one am looking forward to that as well. In the meantime please visit the room and you will see the schedule of events that are forthcoming.
Regards,
Ray Walker

Hey guys..... I just got through listening to Jerry Brightmans live chat from last night. Wow! Thanks Jerry for all the knowledage you shared. I just recently returned to the steel after 29 years and it was very encouraging. One thing about listening to the recording, I was able to put it on pause and take notes. At times I could rewind if I was unsure of something. I look forward to the next one. Who knows, maybe I will be able to attend! I just love this forum. Thanks for letting me be a part! ....
