Hey guys. Man, is it just my imagination, or does Lloyd just get better and better? He's so awesome, one the best musicians (not just "steel players") ever.
Anyway, seeing that performance the other night got me looking for some tapes that I've got of myself with Steve on the Opry. Well, it took some digging, but I found a copy of "Burnin' The Roadhouse Down". Check it out. It's in MPEG-1 format, which should play in just about any media player. It plays in my Windows Media Player 10 just fine. The file is 23.7 megabytes though, so I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with a dial-up connection. Hope you enjoy it. See ya'll.

Hey Travis, I can't wait to hear this! However, I too have WMP10 and do not have the MP4 filetype option... even after downloading the latest CODEC. I'll have to see if it will work on my home computer.

| Hey guys. Sorry you're having trouble. If you haven't already, try this. After you download the file, right click on it, click "Open With", click "Choose Program", then pick Windows Media Player. You can also check a box that will tell it to always open this type of file with WMP. Hopefully that will work for some of you. Sorry, I don't have the ability to encode it to anything but a MPEG-4 file. Let me know what happens. |

For the Mac folks,
you can use MPlayer OS X 2, works fine and yes, this video is awesome, thanks Travis,

On my PC, the clip won't play in Windows Media Player, nor in Winamp, no matter how many codecs I download.
But it played in Quick Time just fine.
Are you sure that is Lloyd Green? It doesn't look much like him, it doesn't sound at all like the Lloyd Green E9 style, and I have never seen Lloyd play an Emmons guitar like the one in the clip. |

Wouldn't open on my system, either. Wow! That's a HUGE file!!! (over 66 megs). Is that a hi-res video or something? Took almost 2 minutes to download on my cable connection (3 mb/sec).
A dialup would take hours to download that clip.
Suggest you convert it to some other codec! |

I got it to work in Quicktime! Awesome performance Travis!! Thanks for sharing. Looks like you guys were really having fun.

I downloaded the original mp4 file. Quicktime on Mac OSX played it, but all it showed was the opening audience shot which stayed mostly the same and pixellated, turned green, and occasionally flashed a frame of the guitarist. Another OSX machine did the same thing.
Tried to run it with on XP, and Windows Media Player complained about codecs. Went to the Microsoft website where they gave links for two sites that no longer offer mp4 codecs.
Quicktime on XP said it couldn't play the file, and then played it anyway.
Weird!

Hey. I found another one from the same night. This was a pretty interesting one actually. Steve sang this to us upstairs in the dressing room about 10 minutes before this performance. He had just written it that day. So, everything was definitely off the cuff on this one. The file is 29.1 megabytes in MPEG-1 format.

Steve Wariner - one of the most underrated and under-appreciated talents in the business.
Being one himself, it's clear he recognizes and supports fine musicians, of which Travis is certainly one.
