Back in the fold...

Post by Tom Quinn »

Just bought a steel guitar. I sold my old push/pull to a good guy from Fresno three years ago, and blew off 25 years of fooling with steel guitar.

Actually, I haven't taken playing seriously in a lot of years, playing guitar and 10-button Cajun accordion instead. I wonder how much if any my playing will come back? -L-

No WAY!
Hey TQ, long time no hear.

I've been granted a reprieve by b0b but some of our illustrious membership are doing their best to get that revoked, I'm sure. Image

I don't know if 3 yrs would be too long a layoff or not. I've gone quite a few months at a time though.

Good luck.

Back in the mid-to-late ’90's I didn't even l©©k at my steel for (23)-months, because; I was driving a TAXI 12-hrs. a day, 6-days a week and had no time for anything else! However, after taking my life in my own hands for that period of time; I finally decided it was time to give up gambling. So, I quit driving and returned to picking, which felt quite comfortable to me! I never l©©ked working in the eye since! (Not many gigs either, unfortunately!)

Thanks guys... actually I haven't played a pedal steel for $$$ for maybe 15 years. I noodled a bit in Tokyo, but getting around town on the trains and subways with a steel rig was a joke...

Chris and few other guys have the Sacramento scene covered, but I look forward to playing some Cajun music around northern California. If you know the names Junior Martin and Orcey Vanicor (spelin?) you know what I am talking about... -L-
