Thanks to my good friends at Peterson Strobe Tuners I am going to attend the Summer NAMM Show in Indianapolis this weekend (July 22nd-24th) I was wondering perhaps if any of my Hoosier Neighbors can inform me of any pedal steel guitar playing that might be happening in the Indy area this weekend or perhaps any music stores nearby that cater to pedal steelers and might be worth visiting while I was in town-Thanks-PW

Paul,

The only pedal steel playin' you'll be seeing at the Midwest Music Summit will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday afternoon at the Melody Inn (just north of 38th St. on Illinois St.). It'll be me and my band The Roundups playing our brand of '40s/'50s-style Western Swing and Honky Tonk music.

The only local music store that has any pedal steel items is Arthurs on Shelby St. They usually have a steel or two....and last time I was in there, they had a Nashville 112 AND a Steel King! Impressive!

Lastly, Carter/Magnum steel guitars will be on display at the NAMM show.

Stop on by and say hello at the Melody Inn, Paul! We only play for a half hour, though....so as soon as we start, it's all over!

Looking forward to this weekend....NAMM, MMS, hopefully meeting some fellow Forumites (and I don't have to travel more than 20 miles to do so!)

I'll be playing with Deadstring Brothers on Saturday, 9pm for an hour. It is also for the Midwest Music Summit. Location is Radio, Radio Inside. Not sure exactly where it is yet, but you should be able to check out the website.

Sorry about the oversight, Dale Please accept my apologies.

I will also note that there is yet a third steel player at the Midwest Music Summit this year...Thom Woodard, who plays a triple neck Fender console steel with "Stockwell Road".
