I just returned to playing the steel after 28 years absent. What was I thinking! I forgot the love I have for it. I have been playing bass in a Christian country band. The drummer found out I use to play steel and the rest is history. I am now playing a GFI that I bought off this forum. Things are coming back, slowly! LOL I come here everyday looking and read almost everything. I have a new 2005 Emmons LeGrande III Derby Red S-10 on order.I can't wait until it gets here!!! I use to have a double neck back then. Anyway, thanks for letting me jump on board guys.

Thanks for the welcome Larry. I wondered what was wrong with me these past 28 years. I was just plain crazy! Now I will have an excuse for my instanty from here on out. Funny how when I quit playing all those years how I only heard the steel as a background instrument. I heard it but really didn't. Now I hear it on the front side and every 'LICK' they play! Know what I mean? Humm, I love it love it love it!

Rich, Welcome back to the world of steel guitar. It looks like it never gets out of our blood. Just curious, what Christian Country band were you playing for?

I have to hand it to you all, you know how to make a guy feel welcome! All the kind words and yes George I will be calling on you if you don't mind. I also have to agree with you, I have never stopped my love for it and no Paul it never got out of my blood. I guess the Lord had my focus on another love, the Lord and song writing. But He allowed that love to return full blast and thats what I am having, a blast! Thanks again guys. Ps. Paul, I am playing part time steel and part time bass right now for a local group (By the Cross) here in Tn where I live. We are praying for a full time bass player so I can play steel FULL TIME!
