I really would like you guys to see the PROI that I am buying.. Its still on the other side of the US, but I will be mailing the check for it today.
The seller sent a few pics, and the figuring on the wood is OUTRAGEOUS!!.. I would love to show it off a little. The guitar is coming here with a lot of work left to do,so its cabinet shots only,but the wood on this steel is so beautiful,I would like to share... any help?? .. bob |

SweeeeeeeT!!!!!!!! My first pro guitar was a red birds eye maple Pro II Custom. Loved the guitar and the color, but I barely play E9th, so I didn't even try the C6th. I traded for a blonde ProI. It's a nice guitar but I sure like the red. Congrats!!!

Very NICE Bob,
I cant help butlove them ol Buds! And THAT one is a keeper for sure! Almost as pretty as mine  , ha ,ha! So.... come on and brag a little....what pickup are you gonna use, what mechanisim? Tripple raise/ double lower? or what? You Know you just HAVE to
use curved knees on a Bud as pretty as that!

| Larry.. It has a Super Pro changer and has lots of new Marrs pull parts coming with it. Believe it or not, its a 5 and 6!! I have to do some serious - set up on it,and you are right it SHOULD have curved levers... we'll see what happens.. maybe down the road,,,I got a nice deal on it,because I have to do some final assembly/set up, but a ProI with 5 and 6 in this cond is a rare bird so I grabbed it!... bob |

Well if it has new Marrs pull parts your putting on; it certainly won't have curved knees.

| Ricky.. I do believe most of the pull parts are Marrs.. not real sure, It is a combination of Marrs and SuperPro stuff, at least this is what Doug[the seller] told me. I emailed Jeff, and he felt that the SP was the best changer ShoBud ever built,and would have no adverse effect on the Pro I sound... we'll see.. As always, if it doesn't "do it" for me,ebay is only a click away. I will have NO trouble getting my money back.... bob |

That's about the purtiest wood and stain I've seen yet on a 'Bud. That caramel color brings out all of the grain in the wood, and it looks to be in great condition at that. Wait until you get it up on stage under the lights, what a sweet thing!

Dave.. thanks.. It is pretty nice looking, but I always had an affinity for red stained Buds,and kind of wish she was red.. oh well I'll survive .. In any case, I feel fortunate having found this steel.. Pro I Buds are getting tough to find, and almost impossible in this cond especially with 5 pedals and 6 knees.
One nice thing is knowing that if for some reason I don't care for it for whatever reason, or need to sell it fast for financial reasons ,[ALWAYS a possiblity in this houshold!!] ,I will be able to retrieve my investment. Sho Buds are always desirable and the prices for clean Buds seem to remain fairly stable.. affordable,but NOT cheap... I really hope this is the Bud of my dreams... we'll see... bob |

It looks quite similar to my '78 Pro I, which is maybe the best sounding guitar I have yet played and has the quick-clip rod system, easy to set up, stable tuning and great to play. Best of the 'Buds in my rather limited experience. And yours doesn't (yet) have all the dings that mine has collected.
Yes, mine is red, red is nice, but the best part about it is that the finish has faded due to its many years spent sitting in a sunny window at the music store -- it looks better than the original red under stage lights -- once you get yours under the lights you will absolutely love it, I guarantee. |
