few days ago I got an email from the old friend of mine with whom I lost a contact long time ago.I lived in Germany from `91-`95 and played with a few bands. My dearest memories are with the duo called My Way `89.I couldn`t believe I found my friends again. Many things have changed since we played music together last time.I just wanted to share few photos with you because they go way back and I tought you may like to see few german country snap shots.I was much younger and my enthusiasm about steel guitar was endless.Ha,well, things change so do we I guess.

good ol` days

I miss my days I spent in Germany. When I turn back and look at my life I can say it was kind of interesting.A lot of traveling and music.I had a great talk with Bobbe last nite at his shop and after I told him some things about my life he told me I need to write a book.Maybe he is right. But I think the main thing is, if I have to do it again....I wouldn`t change a thing.

Damir, thanks for sharing with us. "Memories" of family and good friends are one of the best things that the Good Lord blessed us with. Happy Easter today!

Germans?? What would Germans care about steel guitars? JUST KIDDING! Read my last name. I will say this though - all of my German fore-fathers came from the Ozarks for a number of generations. Jimmie

Howard,

Guys, Let me tell you, after spending many hours with my great friend Damir, there is much you don't know about him that would make you really admire him for what he has gone through for his love of steel guitar. This guy has a story that any movie company should kill for. Yugoslavia, Croatia, Serbia, in the horrible war torn years and his love for steel guitar never diminished. I only wish you all could know what this great guy has been through just to be here and play steel guitar.
Also one great person to have for a friend too.
Bobbe,

...regarding that band picture...here in the States we hold the tambourine in our hand and bang it against the outside of our leg...but the way she's playing it ought to get the crowd going! ...

...I spent a year and a half in Germany, loved it there!...

Hey Damir, any left overs? You'll never know how badly I wish I'd have had time to be there, but duty called. I'm out of the two hangars in Lebanon now.
Your great friend,

A year ago I played a solo one-nighter at Podewil, in Berlin. Fly 8000 miles to play for 52 minutes, it was too crazy to say no to. The people were great (more people speak English in Berlin than they do here in LA), the beer, wine and food was excellent, we ate in a resaurant that had opened in 1621. Did the museums and so forth, I had a wonderful time.
