Does anyone happen to know who played guitar and steel on the Travis Tritt remake?

It was probably Dan Dugmore in the studio, but onstage and in the video, it's Travis's steel guitarist, Steve Sturm. Brett, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel, GFI Ultra D-10

I'm not sure who plays guitar on the record, but if it's played live, Travis's guitarist, Wendell Cox plays on it. Brett, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel, GFI Ultra D-10

Zack,

Just for grins, check out Steve Young's album (now on CD) "Renegade Picker". There's an excellent version on that album. Although Waylon Jennings had the definitive version of this song, it was Steve Young who penned it and I think his is the best of all the versions. Besides, the steel pickin' is none other than Buddy Emmons.

Keep on pickin'!

Guitar on the record is probably Brent Mason.

A guess?

This topic was discussed last year, the steel part was the great Robbie Turner. I didn't care much for the rest of the album.

Gere, you can find it on a record called "Lonesome, On'ry, and Mean"; A Tribute To Waylon Jennings by various artists. Brett, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel, GFI Ultra D-10

Travis Tritt's version of the song is on a Waylon tribute album. I love this version of the song. I might even go so far as to say I like it better than Waylon's version, even though some may consider this blasphemy.

The "sun" may vary, and a rocket may hit "Mars", But Waylon and the Moon stayed right on course!!!

No, but that is what the firm suggests as a defence.

Brett, thanks for the info. If I can find it, I think that one song will be worth the price. Thanks

Robbie Turner plays steel on it and Marty Stewart plays the electric guitar (B-Bender) solo.

I agree with Jeff. I also thought it was really nice of Ralph to let Waylon sing on all of his records.
