To be without some of the things you want is an indispensable part of happiness.

Okay, how many of the things I want do I have to do without to be happy? There seem to be more and more of them, and I'm not sure I'm getting happier. And if I can create artificial needs an do without them, will that also work? Anyway, thanks for the tip. I think I should be really, really happy pretty soon.

What he's trying to say is that when you get that sound what are you gonna do? You're not happy unless you are persuing something.

I like "old sayings". Two of my favorites...

"The true measure of a man's happiness is the number of things he can do without."

"You'll never become anything by staying the way you are."

I believe there was a saying in some play, maybe "Man of LaMancha", that stated:

"Too much sanity may be maddness and the maddest thing of all is to see life as it is and not as it should be"

Great advise, but how do you do this?

She came to Atlanta Ga. to spend time with a relative and was in a Walmart Super Center. Her Comment was . "Look at all the things one doesn't need "
