Jim,
I'll definitely try to make it to the venice cafe.

Steve,
I'm looking forward to seeing Haywire once you guys start playing out.
I recommend getting Don's teaching books. "Speed Picking, Pick Blocking Improvisation" is a really good one and so is the "C6th on E9th". They both have really helped my playing.
Good Luck at your sister's wedding. That's a daring first gig.

Matt,

As soon as you can muster, find a band, play for free, do whatever. One set with a live band is worth months and months of practice at home.

Remember, we are our own worst critics. You may think you're not very good (heck, I think I suck) but you get out on the stage and nobody will be the wiser.

I'm in my 20’s for the 4th. time! They're all the same, although; I must say the 2nd. time was the best¡

Ben,
thanks for the encouragement! I've played many gigs on lead guitar and the feeling is like no other.
Now I just need to find some guys from Bakersfield in Missouri (well, maybe that's unrealalistic).

We need to recruit the 7 year old,s. That was the age I started playing Steel Guitar
61 years ago. That is the future of our beloved instrument if it's going to survive.
Pass it on !!
