OK. I give up. I gotta know who is playing steel on the new, unreleased song "I May Hate Myself In The Morning". I hope I don't have to wait til February when the CD is supposed to be released to find out. Surely one of you folks with so much knowledge know who it is. I could listen to that song all day, and especially the steel in it. Hoping to hear the answer...

Theresa, I heard Lee Ann's new song, "I May Hate Myself In The Morning" last night and Paul plays some of the prettiest steel I've heard in that song. I love Lee Ann's new song! Brett, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel, GFI Ultra D-10

That is one more fine country song for sure. Leanne is also one of the best female country singers out there today. A real friendly lady too. She's from Jacksonville Tx which is only a few miles from my home town and we met her at a country music show. Country music is alive and well.

I had no idea that Leeanne was from J'ville, TX. I went to college in the little town many years ago. Very pretty little place

Country music is indeed alive and well. Leeanne is truly an artist

Theresa, thank you very much for the information. I wish I had know it was Paul last night so I could have asked him about it. I can hardly wait til the thing is released so I can buy it. I agree it is some of the prettiest steel I have ever heard, and I have been around the block a time or two. I would have guessed it was Lloyd from the one lick in the second part of the fade. But then what do I know. Thanks again.

Gere,

I will be looking forward to hearing that tune. She can really sing! I remember a few years back when she did "Never Again, Again".
I went straight out and bought it! She is one of the few female artists that is still doing country songs. Paul Franklin on that one as well.

It's great to hear LAW doing real country music again. That's what she does best. I was fortunate to do dates with her last year, for my fellow Tarheel friend Rusty Danmyer. Lee Ann is a lover of steel guitar and every night at the end of "Little Rock" she insists on a lenghty solo of steel by itself. She is awesome to work with and very laid-back.
I got some of the advanced tracks off of the new album when preparing for the shows and it's incredible. I believe Rusty cut sides as well. But,there is another song that she wrote with Dean Dillon called " 20 Years and Two Husbands Ago " that is my favorite. It's a ballad too, but the performance is very moving. This may be one of the best female country albums in years. Paul played really great parts and the new single does remind me of Lloyd's type of phrasing in spots. Jeff Surratt

John, I totally agree with you. The song is a knockout and so is the playing, production and of course, the singer too. It seems like about the only station around here playing that cut is "the wolf, 95.5 (WSMFM). When I am finally able to get it, I am going to play that sucker in a loop for about a week straight. I wish they wouldn't do things like that, the way they did with Alan Jackson's "Too Much Of A Good Thing". Play it on the air for 2 or 3 months before it is available for sale. I don't even care if the is the only decent "country" song on the CD. It will be worth the price for that one song. Thanks for the input.

I've only heard the song once and I was riveted . . . it sounds like a throwback song to the 1970's - GREAT COUNTRY MUSIC! And you're right, the steel has that "Lloyd Thang" about it and is up front throughout the song (right where it should be). Paul is The Master. We need to hear more of this kind of music on country radio.
