My dad once told me that Hank was a distant cousin. I think he met him briefly in Nashville around the timn of one of the sessions Lloyd Green was running for us.
Dad's middle name was Garland, and my grandmother was a Garland.
So God bless cousin Hank in his voyage,
and may he find the best pickin up yonder.

Well I'm back from the Alps.
Nothing broken or even sprained.
1.5 days of skiing. Great technique and zero stamina. DRAT!
I also realized to my general horror...
I have been skiing for 45 years... shudder.
Did a chicken sauce with red peppers, a shallot, Girrolle mushrooms, broth and spices.
There were 8 of us and it disapeared 1st round.
Then last night Karen made around 100 crepes, and I did a burger with onions, herbs de provence spices and purreed black olive tapenade, as a crepe filling.
All disapeared very fast.

Hi Farris I love spicy cornbread, with a bit of cayanne pepper for zest. And maybe some crushed chestnuts in there for texture too.
I am glad other people are finding the food thread here 'sympa".
We can work hard and practice, etc, but without good food, life can be pretty boring.
For me generally, it is quality more than quantity.
5-10 little great tasting things, are better than a heaping plate of the same thing..till your filled.
So If we run out of something, well too bad, you can have the memory,
now try this thing here!
[This message was edited by David L. Donald on 02 January 2005 at 08:27 AM.]

Ok Farris.
Sundried tomatoes, white wine, burnt sesame oil, ginger powder, soy sauce, orange and lime peel cooked in sweet soysauce, a touch of balsamic vinigar, Worshctershire sauce. red peper, onion, garlic clove crushed, sam n pete,
Mix up to taste, and then add wine to cover.
let stand overnight or longer.
I have been known to inject this into roasts etc. with a baster needle.
Looks like I did get the Thailand gig starting Feb 20th,
Gonna spend my 49th birthday (21st) in Bangkok eating like a king!!
Then off to the mountains for a video shoot, till some time late march...
And they are PAYING me to do this too.
Go figure!
I will definitely be spending time in Thai kitchens for sure.
