Dear Friends,

Just to kick off 2005, I have added new soundclips to the website:
www.lloydgreentribute.com

Also, please watch out for some new CD releases in the coming months - Lloyd will be on new records by Buddy Jewel, Robbie Fulks and the Calhoun Twins, among others. Looks like an interesting year to come! I hope (selfish me ) his busy recording schedule will continue that way!

Kind Regards and Happy New Year, Walter

Amazing clips. Each seem to fit the song so well. I am a new fan for sure.

A general question. The Darrel Macall song sounded so much like Ray Price I had to return to the main page 2 times to be sure it wasn't.
What am I missing not having any of his CD's?

Loyd sounds so good, even while backing not to be songs, it boogles my mind. Now that he is back, the best is yet to come.

Ken,

Darrell McCall for sure can't hide Ray Price as one of his major musical influences (which is nothing he needs to be ashamed about ), he also was a member or the Cherokee Cowboys for some time, like so many other great artists (Johnny Paycheck, Roger Miller, Willie Nelson).

Darrell had a steady output of records in the 60's and 70's but never enjoyd the chart success he would have deserved. Most of his great work is can be heard on the fantastic Bear Family box set (5 CDs) named "The Real McCall". On these recordings you will also hear lots of classic steel by Lloyd Green, Buddy Emmons and Dickie Overbey - it's classic country!

Kind Regards, Walter
