The Roadhouse Kings is playing at Dos Palmas
Mobile Home park in Mesa, AZ.
Last year we played there and as we were setting up our 42 year old bass player looked at a few of the older folks decked out in thier jackets and ties and said "I hope nobody dies here tonite."
We modified our usual set list covering Skynard, Allman Bros, Doobies, Eagles, etc. and pulled out every country song we could think of and mixed in some rock closer to the fifties.
The good folks were mostly early 60"s on up....and up dancing from the first song....at the end of the night our bass player grabbed the mike and told the folks that they were the best crowd he'd ever played to! We were hired for this new years on the spot.
(I think I had so many requests for Sleepwalk..I had play it 3 or 4 times.)
It's also gonna be nice to leave our bigger PA in the garage.
[This message was edited by Jack Francis on 10 December 2004 at 09:24 AM.]

[This message was edited by Jack Francis on 10 December 2004 at 01:29 PM.]

I'll be playing at the VFW here in Baxter Springs, Kansas. The last time I played a club was here last New Years Eve. I'm gonna have to start playing a little more than once a year I guess.
Curt, good to see that you're playing!
Scott, tell DeWayne "Hi" from me.
Steve English, you didn't play up in Payson, Ar. in 1975 did you? I remember seeing two brothers playing at a Moose Lodge there and one was a steel player.
Wishing everyone Happy Holidays from all the members of the Kansas Steel Guitar Association. Ray

I'm not going to play this New Years Eve either. I'm doing something completely different. I'm TEAM ROPING. Not sure right now which one I'll make, but one would be in Glen Rose Tx. for a new Dodge Pickup, and there is one in Guthrie Ok. for $100,000.00 dollars to the winners of the main average! (That's $50,000.00 per roper) The Guthrie roping might be full by the time we get entered, and I'm still waiting on a couple of things to work out. (time wise.)
Jim Snider and the "Cain't hardley Playboys" will be playing at the Finish Line in West Ft. Wth. But They have a sub for me. The only thing I like about playing New Years Eve, is the money. I'm not good around a bunch of amature drunks, and amature Drunk-Drivers trying to get home. Please whatever you do, Be Carefull!
