Thanks, guys, for the nice comment! Since the website started beginning of August 2004 there were over 4,600 visitors which really proves that there are a lot of people interested in Lloyd Green and his music. I know that there is enough material still waiting to keep me busy for the next 30 or 40 years

Still I want to say one thing: Thanks to Lloyd for giving us the gift of the 1000's of records he played on during the years and my personal thanks to Dot and Lloyd for providing so much information and support for the website. Without their never ending assistance I would have been getting nowhere!

Also, thanks to you all who supported this project by providing material or simply by visiting and enjoying Lloyd's music!

Personally I freely admit that I have listened to a lot of Lloyd Green lately and discovered a lot of recordings I wasn't aware of before, definitely not a bad way to spend my time. I am enjoying it!

Kind Regards, Walter

PS.:

CrowBear, can you translate some of the French text for me, my French is non-existent!

Curious as to why they left 2 songs from Stonewalls' 1st LD lp, Platinum - 1979, off of the cd release. Being as how he only did 2 albums with them, you'd think they would have included all the songs.

Thanks Walter for the site. I was looking at it at work and one of the songs began to play. One of the secretarys could hear it and asked if that was me playing. I about fell out of my chair laughing. I WISH!!!! Anyway, great site, I have it bookmarked. Now I must get back to work.

I found that all of the Koch re-releases of the Little Darlin' Material lack historical correctness - there are tracks missing (like on the Stonewall album, also the Bobby Helms compilation is far from being complete!). The liner notes sometimes are far away from the historical context. A good example is the track "The Cave" on the Lloyd Green CD "Master of the Steel Strings", this was not done as a Lloyd Green instrumental although it contains a great steel solo in the middle. Not even Lloyd remembered exactly for which instrumental project this was recorded originally.

Anyway, it is good to have some of the material available on CD - with Lloyd's playing, that can't be wrong!

Kind Regards, Walter

Walter,

You, your web site, and your knowledge of steel guitar history are a blessing to steel guitarists all over this planet. I have been corresponding with you for some time, but our first face-to-face meeting was at the 2004 St. Louis convention. We are ever so grateful to you for the nice pictures and recordings you passed on to us after the convention. Say "Hello" to your friend who came with you all the way from Austria to attend the convention.

Roy and Laurie
