I was fortunate enough to spend about 4 hours in the Portland OR airport yesterday. Fine airport. One of the airlines was promoting a new regular flight from Portland to Hawaii, giving away a trip, yada, yada. Well, they had live music, traditional dancers, etc, and NO STEEL GUITAR!!! I only saw guitar/bass duos. Please tell me I was just there for the wrong 4 hours and at least one of you NW steelers played there.

I was totally out of the loop on this one. 'Didn't hear a single thing about it.
We have a few good Hawiian style players in the area, including Ray Montee and Paul Brainard.
Let me know if you have any other details like band names or promoters, etc... I'd like to follow up on it for next time.

I knew there were a few players in the Portland area. I didn't catch any names, but I believe the promotion was put on by Northwest Airlines. |

Gee for a minute there I thought this thread was about an airline losing a steel. You guys are really lucky you don't have to hear me rant about that subject. |

I never heard about it either and I'm supposed to be dialed in on the Portland Oregon Visitors Association and NW Airlines promotions, too bad.
As for your note, Rick, they haven't lost mine yet but they DID manage to trash my case pretty bad, TWICE!
Pete, got your email, I'll check in later this week.
