Who's the Steeler?

Post by Chuck Cusimano »

I watched a deal with "The Notorious Cherry Bombs" (Vince Gill, and Rodney Crowel) on T.V. a while ago, and I couldn't get a good enough look at the Steel Player. I didn't catch the whole show, just the last part. Anybody know who was playing Steel? I know it's not John Hughey. ('Less he...... well, any way I don't think It's John.)
Did ya'all see it? Dosen't Rodney look like Johnny Rodriguez?

Chuck, that's Hank DeVitto playing steel for the Notorious Cherry Bombs featuring Vince Gill and Rodney Crowell. They reunited recently to record an album together. Brett, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel, GFI Ultra D-10

I'm gonna guess Hank DeVito but if I'm wrong I imagine Brett'll straighten it out pretty quick.

I wondered whatever happened to DeVito on the steel scene. I did hear that he went into the photography biz, or something.

Very nice steel. If you have a reasonably fast Internet connection, you can hear and watch a "Notorious" video at this website:

Looks like Vince, Rodney and the band had way too much fun with this track. Enjoy.
