Mel Tillis will be putting on a show nearby soon.Who plays Steel for Mel ?Do the Statesiders all travel with him?

That would be Tim Sergent. Tim is one of the best players you will ever hear. I had the pleasure of working with Tim in Pam Tillis' band for a couple of years. Tim has also played for the likes of The Dixie Chicks and Ricky Skaggs among others. Tim took the job with Mel after long time "Statesider" Terry Bethel stepped down. And yes, Mel travels with the Statesiders. I saw them most recently at Fan Fair here last June and Mel had all 13 pieces with him. That's right, a 13 piece band!

Tim's also played for guys like Clay Walker. Brett, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel
