Start All Over Again - Who was on Steel?

Post by Ray Minich »

The Desert Rose Band did the tune "Start All Over Again" a "few" years ago. The steel break has always been one of my all time favorites. I only bought the 45 at the time (yeah, 45 record, shows how long ago...). Does anyone know who did the steel on the tune? Was that Jay Dee?

I believe J D played steel on most, if not all, of their recordings. Great stuff.

The reason I ask it that I just received in the mail yesterday my copy of Mike Headrick's "Steels on Wheels" CD. Drove to my daughter's band concert last night and popped the CD into the truck's player without even looking at the tracklist. Whilst driving and listening I noticed his Desert Rose Band tendencies. So I got to thinkin' "I wonder if...". Sure enough, the last tune starts just as I'm arriving near town and it's "Start All Over Again". Man, was I crankin' the volume. Mike has done one superb job on one of my all time favorite tunes. What a ride!. I highly recommend the CD.

Sorry, I have no way at present to post any clips from this "corporate" PC.
[This message was edited by Ray Minich on 19 November 2004 at 07:05 AM.]
