Yesterday in Fredericksburg, we saw a terrific display of great Western Swing, from Cindy Cashdollar, Redd Volkaert, a fiddle player named Bart (sorry, I forgot his surname) and a bass player and drummer whose names I also apologise for forgetting.
Many Western Swing classics, some Willie Nelson/George Jones/Lefty Frizell style country...and even Sleepwalk!
My thanks to Cindy also for being so friendly and charming when we spoke during the break.
Check out her website, and if this band is playing near you, don't miss them! I knew that both Cindy and Redd were good, from hearing them on records - it was only yesterday I realized just *how* good.
