Good Job!! You behaved yourself and kept things clean....that's what it's all about. You don't have to be Buddy or Lloyd to sound good...especially when you haven't got that kind of time in playing. You did it the way it counts and it's pleasing to the ear. Again good job and keep it up

Savell nice job also.
Good over all arrangment, and the vocals are cool, well done.
The steel work fits the music, that is the best over all goal.
It emotionally supports the lyric.
If I might make a suggestion for your recording process.
Your speakers and/or where you are in the room when mixing/tracking,
are fooling you a bit.
This is common so don't worry.
I get the same issues in any new room,
or with a new speaker system in a room I know.
I think that since the bass is boomy and the highs are weak,
that your speakers are weak in bass and quite bright. at your mixing position.
So you compensate in your recording.
But you are compensating in the wrong direction.
My general eq correction when I listened was
dropping 32 hz 4 db, 64 hz -3 db, 125 hz around -2 db
in other owrds a gently increasing downward curve below 250hz.
And for above
a gentile accending curve 4khz +1 db, +2 db at 8 khz ,and +5 or 6 at 12kz. aproximately.
This helps your existing track. IMHO.
Basicaly in the future if you mix quite bright and go easy on the bass in future projects,
you will find they travel better to other systems.
Maybe do a couple of tests with a few tracks to see what sounds good in the real world,
and what it sounds like for your mixing position.
I hope this is constructive feedback for you.
