I change steels every few years, just for fun. I have five of them.

I had to change wives once, out of necessity. I couldn't live with my first wife.

Guitars are objects that you can buy and sell. Marriage is a spiritual bond. You can't seriously compare the two, so I suppose the intent of this topic was humor.

Guitars and humor go hand in hand. I should know! Everytime I start playing, people start laughing! Image

Donna. Is it really true what you told me about b0bs first wife getting mad because he coulden't take her along on gigs because after he got the car loaded he didn't have room for both her and his banjo?
Also, late but a belated happy birthday to you b0b.

Right now it does not look funny anymore."

I think you need to reread some of the posts your thread generated.

"I know that the forum is for steel guitar players and their instruments. But i do not think that the forum is made to make each others lives misserable."

Maybe bOb should include that in a Steel Forum Mission Statement.

And take that Image and Image that. Just in case anyone takes this post seriously.

Actually, my first wife couldn't stand to listen to me tuning my pedal steel. It really drove her up the wall.

After the divorce, I bought an electronic tuner. True story! I wasn't about to let that sound scare away a good woman, should I ever find one. I did.

Been happily married for 26 years now. The current Mrs. Lee's a keeper!

The guitar is long gone.

I'm not married to my steel, we've just enjoyed a 40 year engagement. My daughter finds it annoying as he!! and I like that, she's 13.

Wait, one of the reasons I took up music was to get the girl. Now you say I have to choose?! What a nightmare that would be. Image

Now about religion on the Forum - suppose a bunch of people came on here and were always praising Allah, Yaweh, Krishna, Satan, the Great Pumpkin, etc...? This would and does create tension and strife.

Ha! Haven't you ever listened to the secret backwards messages on country/western records?

Married to my steel? I don´t think so, after all it´s just a tool. But married to my music... at least that´s what my ex-girlfriend used to say.
