Gretchen Wilson's Steel player ?
I saw a short piece of Gretchen Wilson playing live on an Australian programme.
Her steel player was playing a Black Emmons.
Can anyone tell me who this is ?

Russ Pahl just left my store after a two hour conversation about many subjects. This was the most we had ever been able to converse at one sitting in our twenty five year friendship.
Seems as though I gave him my playing job in a club here when he first came to Nashville.
He talked of his sessions, producing and admiration for all the great steel players.
Bottom line on this guy is that he is a very nice person with a great love for steel guitar and seeing that it gets on records.
Yes, he did produce Lloyds last session,(CD), I picked on him about Jr. Browns cameo on it though!
I wish I'd have recorded the conversation. I know many of you would find him a very interesting person.
Look for much more out of this great guy in the future, it's really happening for him. Russ Pahl, a name and steel player to remember.

By the way guys, Gretchen Wilson is a steel guitar fanatic, ex-husband, Larry Rollins is a Emmons LeGrande, Peavey amp customer of mine from a few years ago and now plays at "Gabe's" night club in Nashville. Gretchen has bought many steel supplies from me over the years. Vol. pedals, Pack-seats, etc.
Gretchen? A great steel fan, treat her well!

That explains why her album Here for the Party has a good bit of steel.
Bobbe, I didn't know she was divorced. I thought she and her boyfriend chose not to get married. Perhaps the two are not the same person and she's had a divorce previous to her relationship with him, or perhaps I have my facts mixed up with "untruths", as my beloved great uncle would say.

Yes that was me. Was it the Footy Show or Australia's Funniest Home Videos? Either way they were both fun. We went to Australia, England and Sweden before returning home this past Friday. What a beautiful country Australia is. (my favorite of the 3 we visited)And nice folks too.
PS Gretchen has been divorced from Larry for a while.

Bill,
Thanks for the kind words. I hope he would be proud. I'm actually using a Nashville 400 that I bought from him a couple of years before he left us. It still has his name on it. I think of it as my "Good Luck Charm."

Scott,
Dude.....I'd never consider YOU as "Little People" since you are the cause of me changing from bass guitar to steel guitar twenty some odd years ago. Listening to your band at rehearsal and you coming by the house to show me a few chords after I bought my first steel was the starting point of a musical career that has taken me around the world and introduced me to many good friends that I wouldn't have had if not for you being so gracious back then. On the other hand, I wouldn't have so much money tied up in guitars, amps, processors, strings, recording equipment, motel rooms, gasoline bills and I wouldn't have to drive a dang truck to haul it all in and I'd be home a lot more if it weren't for you.
Just kidding pal! I'm lovin' it.
