Did anyone catch RFD tv last night? Sure looked like Hal Rugg on a Sho-Bud a few years back. Loretta looked fine too.

There's a picture of Hal on the Grand Old Opry in Winnie Winston's book playing a single 10 ShoBud. There are some cool old shots in that book...JH

Hal indeed played a Sho Bud. This was not uncommon back then. When Shot Jackson and Buddy Emmons created this classic PSG, just about everyone "had to have one".

Truly one of the most unique sounds ever in the world of steel guitar,

The picture of Hal and Weldon in Winnie's book (when they were really young), shows Hal playing the little single 10 Sho-Bud. Is it my imagination or is it a keyless variant?

Yes it was...Johnny Cox may be able to shed a little light on this subject as i think he has some of the parts to this guitar.
