Looking for a steeler by the name of Roger Miller in the Des Plaines area....would you happen to know the whereabouts of a drummer by the name of Janice Devlin, or Jan Haskett (same person)???? I used to work with her about 30 years ago....an earlier post hinted that you might know of her whereabouts...
Thanks for any help....

Sandy, Janice lived in Ia. for at time in '83. I worked several dates with her and have often wondered where she went. She is a great drummer, and hope to work with her again.

Also, I'm not the Roger Miller you were asking about, might try Creve Couer, Il. for that one. He used to build steels and I also played many dates with him also, pretty redundant isn't it.

Thanks, Roger...geeze, I wonder if you might have an old phone number, or something...perhaps you might check around; some of your friends just might still be gigging with her. This Forum is about the only chance I have to track her down. I've tried tons of searches on the Web, spent a few bucks on some people search software, but have not had any luck. Do you remember what town she was living in?

I will try the Peoria area...I played in bands with Janice in the Honolulu Hawaii area in the late 70's...we started a band together with guitar player Cindy Davis called "C&W Express". We had a radio show for a half hour every night except Mondays, then four and a half hours of playing. She was a terrific player, excellent time and a great swing feel. She used to yell at me if I started to drag at all! Big personality, good drinking partner, and a terrific musician. Last time I ever spoke to her was when I was making a cross-country trip to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music. She was playing in Virginia with an all-girl band called "Lady Luck" out of Nashville. I've tried searching for her at various times over the years, and it just occurred to me a few weeks ago that she might still be playing country music, and there might be some steelers out there who'd know where to find her. BTW, she used to be in a band in Sacramento, CA called "Thundermama" during the 70's. She moved to the Chicago area, then came out to Hawaii where I started playing with her.

Well...I called the only Roger Miller in Peoria (no listings in Creve Coeur) and hit a dead end. The guy says he has nothing to do with music at all. Is there any sort of band listing in the Peoria area, or perhaps some popular music stores that might have some leads? I'm really not sure where to go from here. Unless she's passed away, I'm sure that she'd still be playing music somewhere out there...there's sure to be some players who'd know who she was, and how to get in touch with her. I'll keep pluggin'!!!
