Brother Steve, that was the live version of "Wheels", right? I should get all those old cuts on CD, they were great, I did see the Hot Band, Hank was playing a wood neck Emmons through a single 15 Music Man, they opened up with "Cash on the Barrelhead" Hank and Albert Lee doing that neat intro, man I love country music!!!

Hank DeVito is a native of New York City (Staten Island). He demonstrated his playing technique at one of our monthly PSGA workshops at the Stagecoach Inn in Huntington, Long Island in the mid 1970's.Hank brought his own group of musicians with him. It didn't take him long make it big time. He is a fine player and a great song writer. We are proud to have known him "back when."

Didn't he do the steel solo in Linda Ronstadt's "Blue Bayou"? And that wonderful E-Bow solo on Rosanne Cash's "Seven Year Ache"?

Well.....after thinking about Hank DeVito
and Emmylou.....I had to go dig out a live concert of them from "My Fathers Place" in Roslyn, Long Island, New York from back in 1976. Wow, the Hot Band was really hot that night. Listening to Hank play those solos on Together Again, Ooh Las Vegas, etc, etc, brought back some great memories.
Hope Mr DeVito is doing ok, wherever he may be.

I was lucky enough to see Hank Devito about 16 years ago playing with Johnny Cash.Rodney Crowell was on the tour aswell & both backed Johnny. But Hank stayed in my mind when Rodney announced that Hank had written Queen of Hearts.I was only about 13 at the time but it stuck in my mind.
