In the studio it was probably Paul Franklin, but if you hear it live it is Aaron's steel guitarist, Larry Nalley. Brett, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel

I believe Bruce Bouton played on that album also. I believe it is Bruce.

allmusic.com lists Bruce and Paul both on the album. The cut I heard a few days ago had a nice steel ride in the middle but the one I just downloaded doesn't. Is there a "live" version?

Actually, Bruce used one of my Franklins (his old guitar) when he recorded that song.
