I am 44 and have no gray hair. However, I do have some that has turned loose. I would rather be gray than bald but it does not look like I will have a choice.

Well I barely made this one, I'm only a few days away from being over 40.

My hair's not turning grey yet, it's mostly turning loose!! This trend gained momentum at about the same time I bought my first Steel. Image

When I turned 40 there was a half moon looking just like a yellow bowl floating above the ocean, and I thought, "Don't worry man about not getting my steel set up yet, 'cause jus' look at all those guys that play good steel, THEY'RE gray hairs!" I knew it was going to take time, just like THEY had invested. I thank YOU now for showing me that then.

I just hit the landmark age of 37, no gray in my hair, ( and looks like no chrome-dome in sight either ) and I've been recently called "a boy"!!

30 is half-old, 50 is old, 75 and up is shallowly buried (alla according to a locally well known couple of jokers).

I have three kids with a combined age of 39 -- does that count?

One of my fondest memories happened on my 30th birthday.

I was feeling old, depressed, and over the hill and wondering how much longer I could continue to play in bands with all those "kids" that I was playing steel with back in those days.

Then the cloud lifted when I got to the job where I was playing that night and the club manager, a woman, "carded" me to confirm that I was over 21 and legal for me to be there! Image

I needn't have worried however, because 40 years later I was still playing steel with "kids" about their same age!

That makes 40 replies. Does that make this topic over the hill? Or just maturing? Getting better with age?

I'll be 30 the 9th of October. Got thick brown hair on my head and keep my face clean shaven. I should be easy to recognize at the Dallas show. Image

I dated a redhead for 3.5 years, I was going gray by age 24...

My band wanted me to dye my hair at age 27, till we played regualrly with another band, coincidentally named FRANCE, and their guitarist dyed his hair GRAY.
That shut them up good.

This same picker worked for Rounder records as a day gig, but prefered a Marshall Major on 11 with an echoplex at night.
[This message was edited by David L. Donald on 03 March 2004 at 08:53 AM.]
