An interesting factoid. Amazon.com has statistics on its CD sales. RR's Unclassified album ranks #106 in Amazon sales in USA. There are geographic preferences as follows #6 in Hoboken NJ market and #10 in Nashville market. Also a some top 20 sales at some of the Universities. I can't check Billboard chart history online, cause ya got to play those slicksters to subscribe. But anyway, I am guessing based on sales and niche geographic markets maybe the guy has peaked? He might have a challenge keeping the fickle public satisfied. As much as we may be familiar with him, I think the majority of the public may be clueless.
By the time this thread hits 300, he may be online with us fiddling the old tune "No Respect for the Steel Guitar"? |

What I have learned so far:
1) Some guy doesn't play keyboard
2) Damir's grandmother plays a singer (single or double?)
3) Most pedals are made of Steel
Keep the info coming, guys!
Kind Regards, Walter

Hey Damir!
Here's hoping you get to 400 replies with this or any other post related to Mr. Randolph. I think he's great - and so is the Forum.

I must be livin' in cultural zombieland 'cause Walmart, FYE (a music store), K-Mart, none of 'em have the RR CD and I have managed to miss all of the televised performances. Anybody want any snow? We do have snow. I'll trade you tons of it for a CD. More snow coming tomorrow.
My mom's Singer treadle had great tone, she did too when the needle broke.[This message was edited by Ray Minich on 15 March 2004 at 07:14 AM.] |

My mom had one of these too! I used to try and see how quick I could make that wheel turn until one day I stuck my hand in it.
Ouch!
Maybe that's got something to do with my difficulty playing the fast solos on my "steel pedal" guitar.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is "snow"? Is it somehow related to "cold"?
I've read about cold. That's when it gets below 70, right? That happened once here in Los Angeles a few years ago. It was very strange and I didn't like it at all. I actually had to put on a long sleeved shirt. Took me a long time to find one. |

At age 56, I had a first-in-a-lifetime experience this past December. I shoveled snow.
The event occurred at my in-law's house in Columbia MO. My wife actually cleared the driveway, but I did move two shovel-loads.
I was quite proud of myself, though not to the point of hubris. It was a life-completing experience, for sure.
As to the general population being "generally clueless" about RR, I'd agree. But not as clueless as they are about the fellows on THIS forum.
