I'm working for a library/production music company at the moment and one of the cds I'm working with is all music in a country style. There's some lovely steel guitar played by Janne Lindgren, who I'd never heard of before. Certainly brought a smile to my face on a cold London afternoon!

Hello Matt!

Janne Lindgren is Sweden's leading steel guitarist (loooong and faithful service!) and he's played at one of Scotty's conventions many years ago. He's also a well known name amongst country people in northwestern Europe and a little in central Europe.
You can reach him at steelguitar@swipnet.se homesite (in swedish) at http://home.swipnet.se/~w-110365/left_index.html

Great to see Janne getting some creds! Indeed Sweden's foremost picker!! Who's the artist Janne played for on that CD, btw?

I'd like to add, that Janne is doing an incredible job keeping c&w music going on in Sweden by sending out the email newsletters several times a week. These often include alot of steel guitar related information. And on top of all that, Janne is a forum member too

It's a cd of production music (i.e. music written specifically for film/broadcast use). Janne plays on several tracks.

Janne is also one fine gentleman. Got to visit with him in Ft. Worth a few months back when he stopped in for a visit.

I'll second that Bobby, I've had a couple of emails from Janne since posting this and he's a great guy. Then again, my experience of this forum over the past 4 years has all been of a friendly, welcoming and supportive nature, seems to me that steel players tend to be genuine people.

In addition to all the above attributes, Janne is also a respected DJ among the independent country labels and artists here in the U.S. and abroad. He's certainly an important figure as well as a gentleman and a fine player.

I must say that Janne's daughter Sara has been very successful bringing up her daddy to a good old boy, he, he!
