Anybody know who played on Bobby Austin's "Apartment #9"?

That recording plus "Together Again" Buck & Don Rich version. The best steel ever. There should be a "brings chills" list created for inspiration. Any other nominations?

I haven't heard the Bobby Austin version of "Apartment #9", but both Johnny Paycheck and Charley Pride had great versions of that song, too. Lloyd Green played on both of them. Many of the songs he played on are on my personal chill list:

David Wills - I'd Be More Than Happy (To Set You Free
Johnny Dollar - If I Get Low Enough
Mel Street - The Town Where You Live
Ronnie Milsap - Please Don't Tell me How The Story Ends

Kind Regards, Walter

Hey Jim. That would be Mr Ralph Mooney. I ask him about that several years ago when we were in Dallas at the Dallas steel guitar show. That guy played on so many west coast recordings you cant believe who. By the way that recording with Bobby Austin was my favorite as well and your right Ralphs playing was awsome.

Jim, If you are also asking about Together Again, that would be Tom Brumley.

Regarding Apartment Number Nine intros and turn arounds, you can add Jimmy Day on Johnny Bush's cut of A#9 on the original Undo The Right album.

It's right up there with the best of them.

Also, Tammy Wynett had a nasty good version of Apt.#9 as well. I can't remember who played steel on it. Maybe it was Lloyd Green.

Andy, Tammy's cut of Apt. #9 (the best selling one, by the way) featured Pete Drake.
