My wife & I just got back from Springfield where we heard two HOT sets by The Commander Cody Band with Don Curtis on steel. These guys cook, and Don really does a great job, don't miss this show if you get a chance to see them! |

Yea, I just caught them the night before in St. Louis. Don really gets to rock out on that show. See the Commander Cody show if you get the chance. Hearing Don and Mark Emerick and their dueling Steel and Telecaster is a real treat.

Glad to hear the ol' Commander is still keeping smiles on the faces. With or without a steel in the band, he has always killed, and I hope he does so for many more years. How many truckin songs did he do in these sets guys? I know he tends to stay away from them unless Billy C is in, but nobody does em better. Definitely a band to see if you wanna have too much fun! |

Dyke, it was great to see you there and you wife, thanks for coming, there were also steelers from St. Louis and Joe Fortune was there too. That's a great place to play and very intimate as it's not too big.
Mark Emerick does the truck drivin' songs now and we did Truck Drivin' Man and Lookin' at the World through a Windshield.
The song the Commander doesn't like doing is Mamma Hated Diesels and Truckin'-F*ckin'.
Mostly all hits in the two sets. Lots of energy and rockin' boogie.
The Commander is 60 now and doing great!
Out east Tiny Olson plays steel with them, and John Windgren too.
It's a great honor for me to get to play with them and to be on their two new live CDs.
Check out the website at: commandercody.com
and markemerick.com for lots of pix and info about the Ozone.
