I just got the Happy Goodmans "Wanted Live" album today, and have been enjoying it very much (the one with Jack Smith on steel) I know they did another live album with Mr. Green on steel. Is this album in print in any form? (CD or cassette) I would love to get a copy. Thanks Jason

Jason, I have the "Wanted Live" album and Jack Smith is great. I was not aware of another album with Lloyd Green that was recorded live. I would like it as well if it were available. All of the Happy Goodmans have passed on and all we have left are their recordings and good memories...Paul King

Good reference. We've discussed this 1977 album at least a couple of times (and we certainly can some more. :-)

Listen to the intro on "What A Lovely Name" to try and get a handle on the deceptive simplicity which is Lloyd Green. (Sure--the C6 snobs can tab it out easily enough, but let's hear them make it sound like that.)

Just another throw away moment for Lloyd becomes an intro for the ages.

Reggie Duncan, for one, has a vinyl copy of this record. I'm sure he'd enjoy a couple hundred email requests for it. Smile

Yes, I have it. It is the best live recording of gospel music, IMHO!

GOODMANS Canaan CAX-9816 Very Best of Happy Goodmans Live! (2-lp set)
Look here: http://www9.gemm.com/ddc/search.pl?sid=367049478&key=66500&referred_by= ANDYBURNETT&a_refno=GML419841481
GOODMANS Canaan CAS-9789 99 44/100% Goodmans features Lloyd on some great tunes, also. I can't remember the name of it but I have a Rusty Goodman solo album Lloyd played on!
Also, I have a Heisman Quartet album that Lloyd took to the bank!!!!! His solo on "Meeting in the Air" is as tasteful as anything I have ever heard!

I have the 1977 release on a re-release cd i purchased off the Goodmans web site about 3 years ago. I also have the LP. I think I have an 8 track of it too. The first time I heard it, I recognized the steel player as the same as the Live at Panther Hall Cd with Charley Pride.
