I just discovered this pic showing singer Blixa Bargeld with his Carter... Now who would have thought of that. Seems like the pedal-steel really gains recognition even in "remote" styles of music. Haven't heard their new CD, though.

Wow, aren't they super heavy noise-industrial?
I think that they got run out of Seattle several years ago for almost burning down a theater.

wow, you played Bass for them? On which record? I used to be a big fan, but lost track in the last years...

Blixa quit playing with Cave last year. I always liked his approach on guitar playing.

Martin,

I was playing bass for Walter Durkaltz(NYC DJ producer guy) noise dance project. He then started working with Einstürzende Neubauten and lifted my bass part for a tune of theres. I found out by hearing it at a club Walter was DJing at. I don't know what record because my lifestyle at that point was such that the first thing I did when I woke up was to look around to see if I was in a hospital or France or something.
