Man, a couple of the steel breaks on this album are absolute gems!!! However, on my copy, there are no musicians listed, I'm tempted to guess Mr. Emmons. Does anyone know for sure who they hired for the session? |

Johnny Bush has used Herb Steiner for some of his recording. |

If the album you're referring to is "Hot Texas Country"(or something similar) the steel player was Buddy Emmons...I had it when originally came out on vinyl. |

I've got the LP that I bought at Scotty's some years ago at the Step One booth. It's one of my favorite albums of all time. Darrel McCall really nails "The Twenty Fourth Hour". I acutally like it better than the Ray Price cut. My favorite tune on the album is "Wait Till The Sun Shines Nellie" which is really cool. On "Pick Me Up on Your Way Down" it sounds to me like Buddy's using a compressor but I'm not sure, I just know I love his work on the whole record.
