Who is playing this brand PSG with Joe Nichols live on CMT ?? I recall John Hughey's post about recording with Joe so naturally I'm interested in his music and his steel player.

But Peterbuilt ?? This has got to be somebody pulling our legs, isn't it ??

And while we're at it; who is doing that beautiful playing on Alan Jackson's; Remember When ?? With that full orchestral arrangement, the steel is even more poignant as well as prominant is the mix. Nice tone and touch by whomever did the playing !!

Regards, Paul

You know Paul, I noticed that, and I wondered if by chance that guitar had a Fuller-Eaton mechanism, and super 10 sssssssstring. You will have to be a driver to understand my humor.

And the solo on A.J.'s song is one of the most prettiest solos ever. God bless those fingers on that guy.

Charles: If it is PF then I've got to say he's done something exceptional !! The last time I listened that hard to a steel solo it was Tom Brumley on Togeather Again and that was in another lifetime....

The player I saw on CMT / MWL, with Joe Nochols was Terry Crisp playing the 'Pertbuilt' ... I tuned in right in the middle of the Farewell Party solo ... Go TC! After all these years, you have still got it ,,, no shaky hands or anything of those things that accompany old age!

It was vintage Crisp alright! The steel is a Derby.

There was a time when I had the Cummins logo Diesel Power on my Carter,on the opposite side of the Carter name tag. It was fun when I would play a truck driving song, and play that horn sound--The Diesel powered Steel Guitar. I replaced it with a sticker of the American Flag. Joe

Jerry's correct. It's Lloyd on "Remember When" with his old faithful LDG..

In addition to Lloyd's beautiful playing, the solo jumps out at ya because it's in the key of C, while the main tune is in G, later modulating to A.

Very interesting from a theoretical viewpoint.

My apology to Mr. Green. I thought I read this from a rather factual posting. I believe Lloyd has done about 25000 songs during his great career and I still play his new CD everyday. Lloyd I sure hope you put out another real soon. God bless.

Now I see what can happen when you close your ears !! Like a lot of us, I had grown weary of, for lack of better words, Modern Country. I stopped listening....

This morning my step daughter called me and said: "You're a steel guitarist...who is playing this ??" She then played the music by Lloyd and I was really blown away. I found it hard to believe that this was actually posted before on Jan 7th but as I said; I had stopped listening. Longing for the old days made me loose them once again.

Time for some serious reevaluation I think....

Regretfully, Paul
