I talked to Robert Randolph the other day and he informed me that he is playing on the Grammy Awards in Feb. This is a great moment for the steel guitar.

hey bruce, tell him about my post here on the forum and see if he will answer the questions on it. it is entitled, "questions for robert randolph". i emailed him to ask him if i could interview him using the questions from guys here on the forum, but i haven't heard from him yet. i would still like to do the interview and post his answers, if i could only get in touch with him. maybe he would want to become a member and answer them himself? i posted it because of all the remarks about him and wanted to hear his answers instead of speculation, thanks a lot

I think he is playing twice--once with his band, and sitting in with another act. Cool...

Ain't it just great? See how things work out for our instrument? The more people hear this guy play, the more that will want to play the steel guitar.

Go RR!!

Is it ironic that Walter Miller, the Producer/Director of the Grammys, is also the long-time Producer of the CMA Awards Show (his kids now direct that) behind the Carl Smith flap?
Walter does like Robert Randolph's playing, although he never remembers his name. He remembers the two R's though.
Let's see if Walter gets a pedal steel player on the Latin Grammys too!

Either way you slice it our instrument will be heard. I'm glad to know that we aren't quite dead in the water as some folks would tend to think. By the way Bruce if you read this are you still working with a buddy of mine that has moved there to Nashville.
? His name is Chuck Gatlin. If you read this and see him tell him I said hello and for him to call me. He has my numbers. Thanks in advance.

Hey Bruce, Glad to see your post, wish you'd drop by sometime. We miss ya' man. Our site has Robert on it with Duane, after he repaired his guitar while in town last year. Duane says he is one of the nicest young men he has ever met. I saw him on the TODAY show recently and it was quite interesting to watch him play. See Robert & Duane at www.duanemarrs.com along with many of our friends. We'd love any forum members to come by for a visit if ever in Nashville. We'll take your photo, too. Jeff
