WInnie Winston put out a book a while back called "Pedal Steel Guitar:A Manual of Style" which included a recording of the tabbed examples from Terry Bethel, Jimmie Crawford, John Hughey and Weldon Myrick.
Well I have the book, but darn if I can locate my copy of the accompanying recording... I believe it is now out of print so I'm askin'-
has anyone got this who is willing to share via cassette, CD-R, MP3 whatever?
Winnie, if I'm outta line on this, let me know... |

Gentlemen;
I have the book and have already duplicated the record tracks to .wav files. It's up to Winnie if he'll let me share them.
Maybe for a fee???? Let me know, I can be reached at my e-mail above.
PS: I can put them onto CD, 1/4 inch tape, 8-track (just kidding), DVD, & cassette, I just can't cut any new vinyl :>)

Well... generally one should ask the publisher-- who is PIxenbar Music aka Jimmie Crawford.
Jimmie might have extra records around-- I think it came with three records, but it might have been two. I remember having to sacrifice some quality in order to fit all the stuff in that space.
Personally, it's fine with me to get it out. The more folks hear it, the better. It is great stuff.
But the real vote has to come from Jimmie.

Tom A. -- could it be that you're thinking of the first Winnie Winston book? I see the first one on eBay too -- but I've never seen the second one. |

The OAK BOOK "Pedal Steel Guitar" now is sold with a CD.
The "Manual of Style" came with records-- and not the little floppy ones-- 45rpm sized but 33.3 long play, two sides.

Gentlemen; I hope no one thought I was implying a fee to me, I meant a fee to Winnie. Now that we've got that cleared up, if there is no "rights" problem I'd be happy to send the .wav's to whoever needs them.
BTW: my OAK book came with the little floppy record (well protected by me since 1977), the Manual of Style came with two vinyl records. I also have 3 turntables, none of which work 'cause the belts have all turned to dust. New belts are available from MCM Electronics. Gotta order several today.
Regards

I might be wrong about this, but -- I think if you own the book and records, there is no copyright infringement problem with somebody else selling or giving you a tape (or other form) copy of the records, because you've already paid for a license to make your own personal copies of the record.
I think the problems start when you give or sell a re-recorded version of the published sound recording to somebody who has not purchased a copy of the recording from the publisher.
Like I say, this might be wrong, but my hunch is that it's correct. |

If someone is looking for the audio tracks, I have them (mp3's) somewhere and it will take me a couple of days to wade through about 10 terabytes of disk drives to find them, but I will do it if needed. Please send me a private message. It has already been determined that there is no copyright infringement if you own a copy of the book.
